Richland SWCD hosting annual celebration

Richland Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) invites everyone to celebrate the past year’s accomplishments in conservation on Thursday, Sept. 26. The celebration will be held at the Area Agency on Aging, located at 2131 Park Avenue West in Ontario, at 11:30 a.m.

The public is invited to the celebration, which includes lunch, recognition of the Cooperator of the Year and Volunteer of the Year honorees, and organization updates. The cost is $20 per person and reservations are required by Sept. 18. Reservations may be made at richlandswcd.net.

Eligible voters may cast their vote for two open Richland SWCD board supervisor positions from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The candidates are Jean McClintock and Pam McKown. This election marks the first time in the 76-year history of Richland SWCD that two females have run for board supervisor positions.

Absentee voting began Aug. 28 and closes Sept. 25 at 4 p.m. at the Richland SWCD office. Visit the website for candidate and election information.
