United In Harmony (UIH), a local men’s group, will be performing at Christ Covenant Church at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6, with doors opening at 3:30 p.m.

This concert will include both sacred and popular contemporary selections and is free to the public. A “love offering” will be taken to support the various missions of the church. Light refreshments and social time will follow the performance.

United In Harmony is located in Bucyrus but has members from various counties and currently consists of 25 men who began as a quartet in 2002. As UIH grew, it performed for organizations and fundraisers for various events. These events have included an annual American Legion veteran’s concert, with the proceeds going to veteran service projects.

UIH also has spring and Christmas concerts at the Good Hope Lutheran Church in Bucyrus. These performances have supported many deserving works such as the county-wide Backpack Program that provides weekend meals for students who might not be able to get through the weekend without this support, and the VA Home in Sandusky.

The group has also performed for area nursing facilities and Sunday morning services for area churches during the summer months. UIH was honored to be able to perform the national anthem at four Cleveland Guardians games, once for the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2013, and the Columbus Clippers.

UIH’s goal is to provide a wide variety of uplifting music for all ages and settings. UIH is directed by Randy Mann with accompanist Marcia Burkhart. UIH efforts are made possible by the support of the Ohio Arts Council and goodwill donations from their performances.

Christ Covenant Church is located at 130 E. Walnut St. in Galion.
