Chance to feed animals in Nature Center

The Crawford Park District is offering the following programs:

Homeschool in Nature: GPS

Thursday, Sept. 5 10 a.m. & 2 p.m. at Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 State Route 598.

The Crawford Park District Homeschoolers will start their school year off learning how to use GPS units while locating specific waypoints throughout the park. Students will then mark their own waypoints for us to find. Call the Crawford Park District at 419-683-9000 to register your 5 to 12-year-old. Lowe-Volk Park is located 3 miles north of U.S. Route 30. Open Doors

Saturday, Sept. 7, from 12-2 p.m. at Lowe-Volk Park.

In association with the Ohio History Connection’s Ohio Open Doors event, we will have staff and Junior Naturalists here with some of our animal ambassadors for you to meet! Come and see snakes, frogs, and much more up close and learn a bit about what makes them so interesting!

Face to Face: Frogs and Toads

Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 5 p.m. at Lowe-Volk Park.

The Crawford Park District invites you to come meet the frog ambassadors of the Lowe-Volk Park Nature Center up close in this hour-long program! Join Naturalist Donald, to learn all about the lifecycle of the frogs and toads of Lowe-Volk Park! We will be talking about Gray Treefrogs, American Toads, and Northern Leopard Frogs!

Sights and Sounds

Thursday, Sept. 12, at 5 p.m. at Lowe-Volk Park.

Join one of the Crawford Park District naturalists on a mile-long trek through the trails of Lowe-Volk Park and talk about the local flora and fauna of our area. What new critters will you see? What new sounds will you hear? Please dress appropriately for the weather conditions. All ages are welcome to attend!
