The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, Inc., is proud to announce the Outstanding Senior Citizens for 2024.

In the presence of family, friends, and dignitaries, awardees were honored on Aug. 7 at the Area Agency on Aging, located within Hawkins Conference Center, hosted by Duana Patton, chief executive officer at the Area Agency on Aging, and Jason Painley, corporate board president.

Each year the Area Agency on Aging honors senior citizens who are making a difference in their communities and present a positive image of aging. There is one award recipient for each county in the Agency’s service area (Ashland, Crawford, Huron, Knox, Marion, Morrow, Richland, Seneca, and Wyandot).

The Area Agency on Aging Corporate Board of Trustees and Advisory Council received numerous nominations for this prestigious award, and after thorough consideration, the following individuals emerged as the outstanding individuals in their county:

Outstanding Senior Citizens of 2024

• Rebecca Plank of Ashland County

• Mary Jo Carle of Crawford County

• Lynette Crum of Huron County

• Joseph and Donna Gutridge of Knox County

• Gabriel and Ednita Vaflor of Marion County

• Patrick Drouhard of Morrow County

• Dorothy Michalovich of Richland County

• Janet Schueler of Seneca County

• Rita and Larry Bennett of Wyandot County

Community Service Award of 2024
