BUCYRUS – The Ready for Hire program in Crawford County invites Level Up participants, parents, family and the public to the Level Up Digital Art Show. The show is scheduled for July 31 at the Bucyrus Public Library from 6-7 p.m. The Digital Art Show will display various artwork created during the library’s Summer Reading Program and Ready for Hire Create Camp.

The Level Up Digital Art Show promises to be a vibrant showcase of creativity, featuring an impressive array of 3D-printed projects, animated videos and printed digital art teens created over the six-week summer program.

Attendees of the Digital Art Show will not only have the chance to admire these innovative creations but also engage with the artistic process firsthand. This unique opportunity allows visitors to test out some of the cutting-edge resources that the Ready for Hire participants utilized to bring their visions to life. Tools such as Tinkercad, a versatile platform for 3D printing, and Procreate, a powerful digital art application, will be available for exploration. By diving into these resources, attendees can gain a deeper understanding of the techniques and technologies that underpin the stunning artworks on display, fostering a greater appreciation for the digital art landscape.

“The work included in the show represents a month and a half of tremendous effort from the participants,” shared Kolter Kiess, teen services manager. “I’m extremely proud of the work the teens created and happy that—thanks to our wonderful partners—the library had the opportunity to offer these programs to young adults in Crawford County.”

The Ready for Hire Level Up program is a career-readiness program for students in grades 9-12, but the Bucyrus Public Library has used library resources to expand the program to sixth, seventh and eighth grade students. The program aims to provide students with valuable and in-demand career skills such as animation, Photoshop, 3D printing, music production, digital illustration/design and more. The Level Up Digital Art Show is an integral part of the program, as it provides a platform for students to showcase their skills and creativity. Moreover, it is a chance for the community to come together and appreciate the power of art while learning about the program and how it benefits the youth and employers in Crawford County.

Students interested in participating in the outlined activities for the Ready for Hire after-school program may report to the Bucyrus Public Library in person to sign up as the program continues to take on new students. For more information, interested parties may follow the Bucyrus Public Library Facebook page, visit the Bucyrus Public Library website or email the Crawford County Site Coordinator Kevin Fourman at [email protected] or BPL’s Teen Services Manager Kolter Kiess at [email protected].
