Busy weekend in Galion … and your local newspaper was there

GALION — It was a busy weekend in the Galion area.

The Oktoberfest is over, and although a little wet at times, Mother Nature cooperated a lot better than many thought she would. We have posted a photo gallery from the big festival that filled the streets of uptown Galion Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

On Sunday, the local Experience Galion group sponsored a cleanup of the uptown area and many, including sports teams and scouts, joined the cleaning party and the uptown area is better for it today. We posted a photo gallery of the cleanup.

On Friday evening, Galion High School played host to Marion Harding for a high school football game. It also was parent’s night and the school district honored area veterans before the game. We have a photo gallery from that evening, as well.

Also on Friday evening, we had a photographer at the Crestline football game vs. Danville and we’ve put together a photo gallery from that game. It was our last chance, as the Bulldogs end the season with four road games.

If we missed some events, it’s probably because we didn’t know about them. If you have upcoming events you feel may be newsworthy, please send an email to me at [email protected] or [email protected].

All of our stories and galleries are available on the Galion Inquirer Facebook page and we do have a growing presence on Twitter @GalionNews.

We do accept submitted photos from area events that we can post online and on our Facebook page and on the Galion Inquirer app, which I think is the best way to visit and peruse our photo galleries. I use an android, but you can view it on other mobiles, too.
