Boys basketball: Bucyrus falls to Mount Gilead

The Bucyrus boys basketball team lost to Mount Gilead 59-43 in non-conference play on Tuesday.

The Redmen trailed the Indians 35-14 at halftime.

Bucyrus made 16 shots and 9 of 16 free throws, while Mount Gilead made 20 shots and 7 of 11 free throws.

The Redmen defeated the Indians in the second half 29-24, but couldn’t make up the 16-point deficit for the win.

Gavin Lewis led Bucyrus with 13 points, while Gram Dick added eight points.

Buckeye Central Bucks

The Buckeye Central boys basketball team defeated Riverdale 54-32 in non-league play on Tuesday.

The Bucks surpassed the Falcons 28-8 at halftime.

Buckeye Central shot 22 of 56 and made 7 of 9 free throws, while Riverdale shot 12 of 35 and made 4 of 5 free throws.

The Bucks narrowly defeated the Falcons in the second half 26-24.

Buckeye Central had 35 rebounds and nine turnovers, while Riverdale had 25 rebounds 20 turnovers.

Grant Loy led the Bucks with a game high of 19 points, while Jacob Shade added 15 points.

Nathaniel Hughes led the Falcons with 10 points.

Crestline Bulldogs

The Crestline boys basketball team lost to Danville 62-40 in non-league play on Tuesday.

The Blue Devils surpassed the Bulldogs 28-14 at halftime.

Crestline shot 13 of 45 and made 13 of 32 free throws, while Danville shot 19 of 49 and made 19 of 29 free throws.

The Bulldogs lost to the Blue Devils in the second half 34-26.

Crestline had 44 rebounds and 29 turnovers, while Danville had 37 rebounds 15 turnovers.

Connor Kurtzman led the Bucks with a game high of 11 points.

Ridge Durbin led the Blue Devils with 15 points.

Wynford Royals

The Wynford boys basketball team lost to River Valley 80-78 in non-league play on Tuesday.

Wynford shot 25 of 59 and made 17 of 29 free throws, while River Valley shot 27 of 50 and made 17 of 29 free throws.

Wynford had 36 rebounds, while River Valley had 23 rebounds.

Hayden Wallace and Danyon Hempy led River Valley with 25 points.

Alex Crall led Wynford with 27 points. Jack Reed had 21 points, while Braxton Tea tallied 15 points.
