Northmor girls claim league win against Centerburg

Strong play in the first half propelled Northmor’s girls’ basketball team to a 42-36 win over Centerburg in a league battle Tuesday night.

The Knights took an 8-6 lead after the opening period and outscored their opponents 11-5 in the second to go in front by eight at the half. While the Trojans took the third 13-12 and the fourth 12-11, they would be unable to make up their deficit.

Northmor, who improved to 7-5 overall and 5-3 in league play with the win, got 15 points from Madison Swihart and 14 more from Karalee Patterson.
