Girls basketball: Buckettes defeat Eagles

The Buckeye Central girls basketball team defeated host Colonel Crawford 57-47 in Northern 10 Athletic Conference action Tuesday evening.

The Buckettes were up 23-20 at halftime and won the second half 32-26.

Buckeye Central shot 12 of 31 and made 15 of 20 free throws, while the Lady Eagles made 10 of 32 shots and 6 of 11 free throws. The Buckettes had 32 rebounds and 10 turnovers, while the Eagles had 26 rebounds and 10 turnovers.

Jenna Karl led the Buckettes with 18 points, while Haley Green added 14 and Isabelle Biglin had 12.

Alexus Burkhart led the Eagles with 17 points including five 3-pointers, while Lexi Hoepf added nine that evening.

Buckeye Central (4-3, 4-2 N10) will host to play conference foe Wynford on Dec. 29, while Colonel Crawford (5-6, 2-4 N10) will travel to play Upper Sandusky in league play.

Bucyrus Redmen

Bucyrus lost to Carey 69-46 in league play Tuesday evening.

Kelci Simms led the Lady Redmen with 19 points, while Gabby Seibert added 13.

Shelby Kin led Carey with 22 points, while Sydney Kin added 14 points and Sydney Wentling finished with 12.

Bucyrus (2-6, 2-4) will travel to play conference foe Ridgedale on Dec. 29.

Crestline Bulldogs

Crestline was defeated by conference foe St. Peter’s 53-29 Tuesday evening.

The Lady Spartans made 21 shots and 6 of 11 free throws, while the Lady Bulldogs made 10 shots and 4 of 6 free throws.

Makenzie Hendrickson led the Lady Spartans with 13 points, while Autumn Scodova and Ava Hatfield with 11 points each.

Crestline was led by Sarah Toy, who shot only 3-pointers for 12 points.

Crestline (0-9, 0-6 MBC) will travel to play Mount Gilead on Dec. 28.

Wynford Royals

Wynford lost to Upper Sandusky 46-27 in league play Tuesday evening.

Alyssa Harrer led the Lady Royals with seven points.

Emma Smith led the Lady Rams with 20 points, while Megan Hensel had 10 points and Sierra Carey tallied eight points.

Wynford (4-5, 3-3) will travel to play Buckeye Central in league play.
