Girls basketball: BC, Redmen lose conference games

The Buckeye Central girls basketball team fell to host Carey 73-44 in Northern 10 Athletic Conference action Tuesday evening.

The Buckettes shot 17 of 63 and made seven of 12 free throws, while the Lady Blue Devils made 27 of 64 shots and 11 of 20 free throws.

Jenna Karl led Buckeye Central with 15 points, while Haley Green added 13.

Shelby Kin led Carey with 21 points, while Destiny DeFeo and Sydney Wentling added 16 points each that evening.

The Buckettes (2-3, 2-2 N10) will host to play Bucyrus in league action on Friday.

Bucyrus Redmen

Bucyrus lost to conference foe Upper Sandusky 58-54 in a home game Tuesday evening.

The Lady Redmen headed to the locker room trailing behind the Lady Rams 33-28 at halftime. Bucyrus’ girls narrowly won the second half 26-25 but not enough to win the game.

The Redmen shot 24 of 57 and made two of five free throws, while Upper Sandusky shot 21 of 48 and made nine of 12 free throws. Bucyrus had 14 turnovers, while the Rams had 11.

Kelci Simms led the Redmen with 22 points, while Ashton Hawkins added 14 points including three 3-pointers and Gabby Seibert had 13.

Sierra Carey led the Rams with 19 points and Abigail Fogle added 15.

Colonel Crawford Eagles

Colonel Crawford scored a road conference victory over Ridgedale 59-26 Tuesday evening.

The Eagles’ record improved to 2-3 in league play and 4-5 overall.

Colonel Crawford will host to play Crestline in a non-conference game on Friday.
