Student wins state title in NFL competition

Owen Mullins, a seventh grader at Galion Middle School, won the state title for the NFL PUNT, PASS & KICK skills competition at the FirstEnergy Stadium of the Cleveland Browns in Cleveland on Dec. 6. “Overall, it was a nerve racking experience,” said the son of James Mullins and Jennifer Mullins of Galion. Mullins participated in the local competition in July, advancing to the regional level in October. He will participate in the nationals as early as late December at the Lucas Oil Stadium of the Indianapolis Colts.
