Volleyball awards

The Galion girls volleyball team ended the 2015 season as the runner-up in the Mid Ohio Athletic Conference Red Division behind Jonathan Alder. They also finished as 2015 sectional champions and district runner-ups.

Lady Tigers’ senior Taylor Valentine was recognized by the Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association as an All Ohio Division III second-team player and will participate in the All-Start match at Wooster High School during the weekend of Nov. 21-22. She was recognized as a first-team player for Division III, District 6. Also, Valentine was as a first-team player in MOAC Red Division, MOAC Player of the Year and 2015 All-County first-team player.

Senior Bradlee Saterfield was recognized as a second-team player for the Division III, District 6 by OHSVCA; second-team players in MOAC Red Division and 2015 All-County honorable mention.

Both Saterfield and Valentine will participate in the Senior All-Star match on at Seneca East High School 6 p.m. Nov. 18.

Additionally, sophomore Marisa Gwinner was recognized as a third-team player in Division III, District 6, and second-team player in MOAC Red Division. Junior Ashley Flowers received an honorable mention in the MOAC Red Division.
