Galion girls 6th, boys 7th at Ashland CC Invitational

The Galion girls cross country team placed sixth and the boys finished seventh at the Ashland Cross Country Invitational last Saturday.

Sari Conner was the top placer for the Tiger girls’ team, which tallied 159 points. She finished 22nd with a time of 23 minutes, 19.5 seconds.

Megan Zier placed 33rd, posting a time of 24:17.2. Abby Barre finished 47th with a time of 25:25.7. Ashlie Sallee came in 49th place, finishing the course in 25:28.4. Lauren Huggins placed 58th with a time of 26:04.1

Kelsey Hoffman came in 67th place with a time of 27:08.8. Lexi Hadamuscin finished 82nd with a time of 28:47.4

Ontario edged Shelby and Huron to win the girls’ team championship. The Warriors compiled 51 points. Shelby finished with 53 points and Huron tallied 57 points.

Emma Hinkle of Loudonville won the girls’ individual title, posting a time of 20:59.9.

The Galion boys finished the meet with 207 points. Lucas Conner was the top runner for the Tigers, placing 36th with a time of 19:52.9. Luke Eisnaugle came in 39th place with a time of 20:07.1. Casey Barker placed 41st with a time of 20:16.3.

Thomas Shawk finished 51st, posting a time of 20:49.9. Collin McCullough came in 54th place with a time of 20:57.9. Mikey Stover placed 57th with a time of 21:09.6. Westan Rose finished 62nd with a time of 21:17.8.

Heath won the boys championship after scoring 33 points. Smithville finished second with 40 points.

Taylor Hopkins of Heath claimed the boys’ individual championship, posting a time of 16:57.8.

Next on the schedule for Galion is the McGowan Cross Country Invitational on Saturday at Watkins Memorial High School in Pataskala. The meet is scheduled to begin at noon.
