Prep volleyball: Northmor sweeps Mount Gilead

Northmor swept Mount Gilead 3-0 in Mid Ohio Athletic Conference Blue Division volleyball action on Monday. The Lady Knights (4-2, 1-0 MOAC) prevailed on their home floor, 25-11, 25-21, 25-18.

Jordyn Zoll paced the offense, setting a perfect 57-for-57 with 17 assists. Mikayla Briggs pounded down 10 kills while going 17-for-19 hitting. Anna Donner was 21-of-22 on the attack with nine kills. Karlee Carroll added five kills.

Briggs and Rayanna Loyer had two blocks each. Carroll and Lindsey Wiseman each had 13 digs. Zoll finished with eight digs and Cristianna Boggs added seven digs.

Donner was 8-for-9 serving with three aces. Hope Miracle finished 11-for-11 serving with one ace. Zoll and Carroll had one ace apiece.

Northmor’s junior varsity squad also swept Mount Gilead, 25-6, 25-7.

Upcoming schedule

The Lady Knights will travel to Cardington-Lincoln on Tuesday. The varsity match is scheduled to start at 7:15 p.m. The JV match is slated for 5:30 p.m.

The Lady Pirates (3-3, 1-0 MOAC) won two of the three matches they played Saturday during the Pirate Invitational at Cardington. After a loss to New Albany, C-L bounced back with wins over Buckeye Valley and Delaware Hayes to cose out the tournament.

Mount Gilead (0-2, 0-2 MOAC) plays host to Centerburg on Tuesday. The varsity match will begin at 7 p.m. The JV teams will play at 5;30 p.m.

Centerburg (1-0) has played just one match so far this season, posting a five-set victory against Utica, 25-20, 25-14, 12-25, 18-25, 24-22, on Aug. 22.
