Boys golf: Dunlap shoots 36 to lead Warriors past Eagles

Mohawk’s Brayden Dunlap shot even-par 36 to lead the Warriors to a 16-shot win over Colonel Crawford in boys golf action on Monday at Valley View Golf Club. Mohawk won by a final score of 169-185.

In addition to Dunlap’s medal-winning low round, the Warriors (2-0, 2-0 Northern 10) benefited from three players who shot in the 40s. Chet Margraf carded a round of 40. Carson Weinandy shot 45 and Nathan Kimmet finished at 48.

Billy Dunlap shot 51 and Leon Balliet finished his day at 59.

Noah Trease led the Eagles with a score of 43. Nick Gremling shot 44 and Isaak Sulser and Eli Shultz each finished their rounds ay 49.

Jake Roesch shot 50 and Austin Strouse turned in a score of 52.

In junior varsity play, Colonel Crawford’s Tyson Russell shot 58 and Devin Clayton and Makalah Trubee each shot 61.

The Eagles (4-2, 0-1 Northern 10) play Wynford on Thursday at River Oaks Golf Course in Bucyrus. Tee time is 4:30 p.m.

Mohawk’s next match is Thursday at Carey. Match time is 4:30 p.m.
