Mr. Jeff Mielcarek, Director of Catholic Youth Organization Athletics for the Diocese of Toledo, has announced he is resigning from his position with the Diocese to become the General Manager of Twos Athletic Club in South Toledo.

Mr. Mielcarek has served in his current role with the Diocese of Toledo for the past 29 years. His final day at the Diocese has not yet been determined.

“This has been an extremely difficult decision for me to reach only because of what we have all accomplished together throughout the years and my true belief in our CYO program,” Mr. Mielcarek said. “I will not be in the same chair at CYO; however, I will always be with CYO.”

A search will be conducted to find the next Director of CYO Athletics for the Diocese of Toledo, and a transition plan is underway to ensure no interruptions to the faith-building efforts that CYO Athletics fosters in the youth of our Diocese.

As an office within the Department of Discipleship & Family Life, CYO assists the Bishop of Toledo in his teaching mission by serving, challenging and supporting the leaders of youth formation and education who minister in parishes and in the Diocese of Toledo.

“Mr. Mielcarek is Mr. CYO,” Interim Senior Director of Discipleship & Family Life Marsha Rivas said. “Throughout his tenure with the Diocese, he has contributed to the formation of countless individuals in the Catholic community. We are very grateful for his nearly 30 years of service.”
