Big inning lifts Knights over Lucas

GALION — On Thursday, Northmor got hot in the fourth inning en route to a 16-5 win over Lucas.

The Knights allowed two runs in the top part of the first but would tack on five of their own runs in the home half of the opening inning. Both teams would tack on an additional run in the second, putting the Knights up comfortably at 6-3.

In the fourth inning, the Knights racked up 10 runs en route to their big win.

Nate Hall belted a three-run homer against the Cubs for his only hit of the day.

Wyatt Reeder continued to fare well at the plate, recording a single and a double and scoring three runs, and driving in two. Mostyn Evans had a pair of singles in the win, scored twice and had an RBI. Alijah Keen delivered a single, a double, two runs and four RBI for the Knights. Conor Becker scored two runs and had a single and Conan Beckerhad a single and scored one run. Jordan Wiseman scored three runs on the day and had a single and Tyler Kegley also reached base on a single, scored a run and drove a run in. Austin Wheeler also scored.

Chris Bood picked up the win on the mound for Nothmor, going four innings while scattering five hits, five runs (three earned), walking three and striking out five. Sam Eichorn worked the final inning, walked two and struck out two.

Northmor will host Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference Blue Division rival, the Cardington Pirates on Friday April 28. On Monday, the Golden Knights will take to the road for a non-league matchup with Worthington Christian.
