Tigers’ Gimbel comes up short at districts

BOWLING GREEN — A magnificent season came to an end Thursday.

Galion’s Kayley Gimbel traveled to Bowling Green to compete in the district tournament in girls tennis. She went in as the three seed in singles play and was matched up against the number two seed from Ottawa Hills.

Gimbel was never able to get things going and lost 6-0, 6-1.

Kayley finishes her sophomore season at 21-4 for a Galion Tigers tennis team that improved by leaps and bounds this season.

Galion will not lose a single player to graduation either this year or next, which leaves the door wide open to even bigger things to come for the girls.
