Knights volleyball team wins marathon over Pirates

GALION — Northmor’s volleyball team faced off against Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference Blue Division foe Cardington on Wednesday, winning in five sets 25-23, 23-25, 25-18, 20-25, 15-11. With the victory, Northmor improves to 12-2 overall and 6-2 in the league.

Caitlin Thebeault and Jordyn Zoll were a perfect ball-handling duo against the Pirates. Thebeault was 67/67 setting with 24 assists for the Knights and Zoll added 77/77 with 26 assists. Anna Donner was the top attacker for head coach Kara Wright. Donner was 48/49 on the attack with 20 kills. Kelsie Fike added 12 kills, Hope Miracle had six and Zoll tacked on an additional five.

Fike, Zoll, Thebeault and Donner were also dominant from the service line. Fike was 19/20 with three aces while Zoll added 24/25 and an ace. Thebeault was a perfect 20/20 with an ace and Donner went 15/16 with an ace of her own.

The defense for Northmor was busy as well on Wednesday. Donner recorded 27 digs on that side of the net and Lindsey Wiseman dug out 15 attacks. The duo of Zoll and Thebeault had 10 digs apiece while Fike and Cristianna Boggs had seven. Rayanna Loyer, as well as Thebeault and Fike all record blocks for the Knights.
