Galion girls golf team sets scoring mark in loss to Clear Fork

BELLVILLE — The Galion girls golf team met up with the Clear Fork Colts at Little Apple Golf Course in a non-league match on Tuesday. The Tigers would finish the match with a score of 191, which is a school record for the young program. Although Galion shot their best round of golf as a team, it was not enough as they lost to the Colts, 191-171.

All of the golfers that coach Mark Barrier sent out on Tuesday either tied or shot their overall personal best.

Leading the way as the medalist for Galion was Greer Gledhill. Her final score for the front nine, par 32 course was a personal best at 45. Right behind Gledhill was Abby Barre, tying her personal best score of 46. Shae Ness finished the day with a 47, a personal best. Rounding out the scoring for the Tigers was Brooklyn Potter with a personal record score of 53. Alexis Chaplin and Macy Eicher were also on the course and achieved personal records on Tuesday. Chaplin shot a 54 and Eicher finished with a 62.
