Galion tennis team loses a close league match

MARION — The Galion Tigers tennis team was in Marion on Monday to compete against Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference tournament champion Marion Harding. Harding was victorious, 3-2.

The two points for the Tigers on the evening came from the second and third singles. Katherine Talbott won her second singles matchup against the Prexies in straight sets; 6-1, 6-4. Talbott is 13-4 on the season. At third singles, MOAC champion Jalyn Oswald won to remain undefeated in conference play. Oswald won 6-0, 6-0 to improve to 15-3. Kayley Gimbel dropped her first singles match to the only opponent that has defeated her this season; 2-6, 4-6. She is 13-2.

The first doubles team of Ellie Chandler and Danielle Schneider lost 3-6, 5-7. Marissa Breinich and Kiersten Gifford took their Harding opponents to three sets but were defeated 6-1, 4-6 and 4-6.
