GALION — The Colonel Crawford Eagles and Cardington Pirates were at Sycamore Creek on Monday to meet up with the host Galion Tigers in a non-league matchup.

Galion shot some of its best golf, defeating the Eagles 170-201 and the Pirates 170-180.

“We played really well last night and I hope we are beginning to be more consistent,” coach Bryce Lehman said.

Consistency has been the name of the game for the medalist on the day, Jack McElligott, who shot 41, as did Mitch Dyer. Brevin Owens got back on track, finishing with a 43. Rounding out the kept scores for the Tigers was Matt Kingseed with a 45. Kaleb Harsh and Colten Skaggs both shot 47.

Lehman also added that, “we still didn’t finish well on the last two holes, but we picked up two non-conference wins and that will help to build our confidence.”
