UPPER SANDUSKY — Upper Sandusky was undefeated headed into its match with the Galion Tigers tennis team on Wednesday. Galion changed that and handed Upper a loss, 3-2.

All three of the points for the Tigers came from the singles play of Jalyn Oswald, Katherine Talbott and Kayley Gimbel.

Oswald was in her usual spot at third singles and landed a victory in straight sets 6-0, 6-1. With the win, Oswald improves to 9-2 on the season. Talbott took the court at second doubles for Galion and knocked off her opponent in straight sets as well 6-1, 6-0. That victory moves Talbott to 8-2 on the year. At first singles, Gimbel was once again the winner at 6-1, 7-6. Gimbel is now an impressive 9-0 this year.

The doubles teams had a bit of trouble for the Tigers against the Rams.

Kiersten Gifford and Marissa Breinich were once again in action at first doubles. The duo came up short in their efforts, falling 0-6, 0-6. The second doubles team of Orchid Parsons and Ellie Chandler found themselves in a bit of a marathon matchup against Upper. Unfortunately, the end result was in the Rams favor 4-6, 6-1 and 3-6.

Galion has now won three matches in a row and six of their last seven. They will travel down to Delaware to meet up with Buckeye Valley in a Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference match on Thursday.
