Galion boys keep rolling on the links


OSTRANDER — The Galion Tigers boys golf team is 4-3 in the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference after defeating the North Union Wildcats on Thursday. Coach Bryce Lehman and the Tigers traveled to Ostrander and handed their conference foes a loss to the tune of 178-192.

After finishing at second or third the last few matches, Jack McElligott carded a 39 and was the medalist for Galion. Mitch Dyer finished in the second spot for the Tigers, adding a 44 for the team. Matt Kingseed (46) and Kaleb Harsh (49) were the other two kept scores for Galion. Colten Skaggs (51) and Brevin Owens (53) were also on the greens for Lehman.

The jayvee boys were also in action on Thursday. The Tigers lost by just one stroke, 214-215 to the Wildcats. Top scorer for the team was Sam Rigdon who shot a 49 at Mill Creek Golf Club.
