Galion comes up short in non-league tennis

GALION — Clear Fork beat Galion Saturday in a non-league tennis match at Heise Park, 3-2.

The Tigers’ Katherine Talbott won her first singles matchup easily in straight sets 6-0, 6-0. Kayley Gimble also had success at second singles, winning 6-0, 6-0, giving the Tigers an early 2-0 lead for the day. Thosewould be the last victories for Galion however. Kiersten Gifford, competing at third singles lost 6-1, 6-4.

Marissa Breinch and Jalyn Oswald took their opponents to three sets in first doubles but ended up recording a loss after falling60-2, 4-6, 6-4. The second doubles team of Danielle Schneider and Ellie Chandler lost 6-1,6-1.

The Tigers look to bounce back this week when they host Buckeye Valley at home on Tuesday.
