Galion boys tennis concludes season in sectionals

Galion tennis faired well at the sectional tennis tournament on May 12.

Lucas Conner won his first match against a Bucyrus foe 6-1 and 6-3. In the second match, Conner was defeated by a Lexington player 4-6 and 0-6. He finished the season 11-10 at second singles.

Tristan Baldy won his first match over a Bucyrus player 6-0 and 6-1. Baldy was beaten by the second seed player from Shelby. He finished the season at 16-6.

Tanner Amos lost a tough first round match to a Willard player 4-6, 6-3 and 0-6. Amos finished the year at 9-12 at one singles.

Nic Oehler/Max Papenhausen lost the first round to a Bellevue team 1-6 and 3-6. First doubles team completed the season at 11-12.

Second doubles of Landon Rose/Tyler Harris lost to Norwark team 0-6 and 1-6. Second doubles finished the year at 11-11.

Galion finished the season at 7-9.

“This was the most wins by the boys team in several seasons,” assitant coach Terry Gribble said.
