Rich Ulmer, a senior at Galion High School, placed fifth in the 189-pound weight class of Division III at the state wrestling tournament held March 4-6 at Value City Arena in Columbus.

Galion’s Rich Ulmer was defeated in the semifinals. Ulmer, a 189-pound senior competing in his first state meet, lost to Kurtis Schaefer of West Salem Northwestern 7-2 last night. Schaefer, a junior with a 49-3 record, will take on Clinton-Massie’s Cory Running (45-3) in the championship match this evening.
