Sherrod Brown tours Lifetouch, talks to employees

He may have gotten stopped by a train on his way through Galion, but U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown made it to Lifetouch Church Directories on Wednesday afternoon. The Democratic senator of Ohio met with the company’s leadership and toured its Galion facility.In addition to the staff at the plant, several executives from Lifetouch, Inc., based in Minnesota, came out in support of the event. Officials from the City of Galion and the Chamber of Commerce attended as well.After the tour, Brown met Lifetouch’s 300-plus employees in front of the building and they posed for a photo. Then there was a press briefing inside a conference room.


Drugs confiscated during search warrant

On April 23, 2014, the METRICH Enforcement Unit, which consisted of Galion Police Department Special Investigations Unit, Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and Bucyrus Police Department, executed a search warrant at 1103 Harding Way East, Galion, Ohio. Galion City Council has officially moved into the 21st century. Compost site open this weekend

The compost site on Taylor Road will be open on Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26. Hours for the facility are 7:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. The facility accepts all yard and landscape waste, such as limbs, brush, grass, weeds, leaves and Christmas trees (all decorations MUST be removed) free of charge to Galion and Polk Township residents. Chemically treated wood, such as deck material and railroad ties, will not be accepted.
