IRS form changes at Galion library

0

The Internal Revenue Service has announced that it will significantly reduce the number of tax forms and tax filing instruction publications that it will make available through local public libraries. Unfortunately, this will affect the members of the community who wish to pick up forms at the Galion Public Library.

We will be able to offer a limited number of the following federal income tax forms this year: Form 1040, Form 1040A and Form 1040EZ. Instructions will not be included.

Individuals can obtain copies of these publications through www.IRS.gov/Forms to view and download or www.IRS.gov/orderforms to order tax products to be delivered by mail. Individuals also can call (800) 829-3676 to order tax products to be delivered by mail.

The number of State of Ohio tax forms sent to public libraries also will be reduced by 75 percent this year. State of Ohio tax forms can be accessed online at www.tax.ohio.gov/Forms.aspx or call to request delivery of forms via mail at (800) 282-1782.

The Galion Public Library strives to provide patrons with the forms needed to file annual income taxes. Unfortunately, the changes made by the IRS and the State of Ohio are outside of the library’s control.
