MANSFIELD—Two North Central State College students have been selected to serve as interns in the office of Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) in Washington D.C.
Mansfield resident Angela Noe and Wooster resident Jennifer Beaver, both majoring in Paralegal Studies, will spend part of spring semester in Washington, D.C. The two are among eight interns who will begin their terms in January. They were chosen from a pool of applicants in part because of their enthusiasm, experience and education. Their internship is scheduled to begin in mid-January.
A 1999 Madison Comprehensive High School graduate, Noe is married to Aaron and the couple has two children, Ethan, 11, and Amiah, 5.
A 2005 Cloverleaf High School graduate, Beaver is married to Seth and they have two sons, Cohan, 5, and Preston, 2.
NC State President Dr. Dorey Diab said he is pleased the two were selected as interns: “This is an exciting opportunity for them. I believe this will serve as an excellent learning experience and will allow them to use concepts they have learned during their paralegal courses at North Central State College. We are very grateful to Senator Brown for selecting two of our students for this prestigious internship.”
Noe and Beaver are currently raising funds to help with the travel and living expenses they will face in their Washington, D.C., internship opportunity. These expenses are estimated at nearly $5,000 each, more than half of which is dedicated to student housing with other interns.
Those wishing to contribute may do so at any branch office of Directions Credit Union in Mansfield, Madison, Lexington, Ontario, Shelby, and Ashland in the name of Angela Noe and Jennifer Beaver.
