WAYNESFIELD — A member of Waynesfield Village Council defended his decision to switch his vote to drop the village administrator and return to a Board of Public Affairs.
Glen Valenti, who originally voted to keep the village administrator position, said he switched his vote to join Councilman Bill Motter’s plan after listening to resident Barb Earl’s reasoning for recalling the position.
“After talking with Barb, I went to talk to Bill [Motter] because of some concerns that he had,” Valenti said.
While having that conversation, Valenti questioned Motter about his campaign in which he was elected. Motter said he had run largely on a platform to return to the board of affairs, and Motter had the most votes out of several candidates.
“I got to thinking,” Valenti said. “It was a landslide. The people had spoken.”
Valenti said he was geared to vote on keeping the administrator before that conversation.
