Spring construction season has begun, and there are already several road projects underway in Galion. On April 25, the State Route 61 bridge (just north of the 61-309 intersection) was closed for a full replacement. This photo, taken on Tuesday, shows that workers already have to old bridge taken out. It is projected to reopen on May 14. On the south side of town, the railroad crossing on Portland Way South closed nearly two weeks ago for repairs. It is expected to reopen on Friday. The railroad crossing north of town, on State Route 598, will close on May 5 for repairs and will reopen May 15. Drivers are cautioned to watch for workers when driving near project areas.
