The Buckeye Central Board of Education concluded a two-month search process with the employment of Mark Robinson, approved during the Board meeting on May 15.
Robinson was selected from a field of 16 applicants. The Board was assisted in the search process by Dr. Dwight McElfresh and Dr. Gene Linton, of Ashland University’s Telego Center for Educational Improvement. After Completing an extensive review of the applicants, the board interviewed six candidates. The field was then narrowed to three finalists who were interviewed a second time.
Robinson is currently a Student Growth Measures and Alignment specialist with the Ohio Department of Education and has been in the position for two years. Prior to this position, he held superintendent positions in the Niles City Schools and Ashland City Schools. Robinson has also held various other administrative positions in the Brecksville-Broadview Heights City Schools and the Firelands Local Schools. He began his career as a teacher in the Canton Local Schools.
Mark and his wife, Joni, are looking forward to relocating to the area. They are both from Willard and are looking forward to coming home.
