GALION – HomeCare Matters Home Health and Hospice’s Summer Children’s Grief Camp returns July 24, 25 and 26, 2014.

Now in it’s in ninth year, HomeCare Matters has revamped, rewritten and rebooted their Grief Camp curriculum to teach children ages 6 to 13 how to mourn in a healthy, safe and creative way.

“We are giving children the power to defeat grief by training them to be Superheroes.” said Brandon Quail, HomeCare Matters Family Support Coordinator. “Kids will face the Sulker, Wilma Worrisome, the Accuser and other dastardly villains so they can learn that feelings of sadness, worry, guilt and anger are perfectly normal and can be vanquished through the use of coping skills and a better understanding of their emotions. This year’s Grief Camp is made possible by Wise Funeral Service, the Mark A. Schneider Family of Funeral Homes, the Tabernacle of Praise Church and Med Flight, who will be landing their helicopter in the camp’s new Galion location at the HomeCare Matters Office, 1220 N. Market Street.”

HomeCare Matters Superhero Children’s Grief Camp is free and open to the public. Registration is required. For more information or to register a child, parents or guardians can call HomeCare Matters at 419-468-7985, 1-800-4 Nurses or click on homecarematters.org. Brandon Quail can be reached at bquailhcm@gmail.com.
