God’s Little Acre Aug. 30


God’s Little Acre — Galion’s oldest Farmer’s Market — will be held every Saturday through September 27, from 9 a.m. - noon. It is in the parking lot of First Presbyterian Church (corner of South Market Street and Atwood Street). Fresh produce, baked goods, jams and jellies and more, all at great prices. Free Oil Changes Aug. 30


Galion Free Methodist Church is providing free oil changes to single mothers on Saturday, Aug. 30, from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Those interested should call ahead to schedule an appointment. The church’s number is 419-468-9648 and it is located at 683 Portland Way North.


Summer Gospel Concert Aug. 30


The final concert of the SummerFest Gospel Series will take place at the gazebo on the square in Galion on Saturday Aug. 30, from 2- 10 p.m. For more information, please call 419-468-2944. Family Music Fest Aug. 30


The First United Methodist Church in Crestline, 202 N. Thoman St, is hosting a free Family Music Fest, August 30, 5:30pm. The music fest features the Stovers, The Jimmy Warner Band, Luke Rietschlin and Pastor Becky Weamer and husband Joe Clark. There will be activities for kids such as games and crafts, hot dogs, popcorn and more. Bring a lawn chair or blanket!


Free Community Breakfast Aug. 31


The community is invited to a free breakfast Sunday, Aug. 31 from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. at First United Church of Christ, 248 Harding Way West, Galion. All are welcome. For more information call 419-468-4380.


Fun Center Chordsmen Aug. 31


ONTARIO — The Ontario United Methodist Church will host the Fun Center Chordsmen on Sunday, August 31. The entertaining and famous singers will be a part of the Sunday morning worship which begins at 10:15. Our church is located in Ontario at 3540 PAW. All people are welcome to come early and join us for Grace & Eggs which begins at 8:30 and runs until 9:45. Hope to see you there!


Silver Citizens Meal Sept. 3


Ontario United Methodist Church will host meals for Silver Citizens beginning Sept. 3. The menu for that day is chicken broccoli casserole, potatoes, dessert and beverage. Donations are welcomed. The church is located at 3540 Park Avenue West, Ontario. Dinners will be cancelled if Ontario Schools close due to weather.


OCBC Fall Registration Sept. 6


Ohio Central Bible College’s registration for Fall Semester 2014 will take place on Saturday, Sept. 6 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Iberia Presbyterian Church. Individuals can enroll in OCBC 101, Old Testament Survey (Professor Jack Moore) or OCBC 105, The Psalms (Professor Joshua Melvin). All adults age 18 and over, with a high school diploma or G.E.D., are welcome to enroll. The first day of class will be Saturday, September 13 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Iberia Presbyterian Church. OCBC meets in the historic building through the courtesy of the congregation.

Financial Peace University Sept. 7


Community Christian Church is presenting the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University beginning Sunday, Sept. 7 from 4-6:00 pm at the church. This is a 10 week series that has helped millions of people take control of their debt, manage their income and ultimately their financial resources. Biblical principles are used to help you learn to save, eliminate debt and build personal wealth. The public is invited and babysitting will be available, if needed, at the church. Donated items from the community are being accepted for the Fall Rummage Sale sponsored by Presbyterian Women now through Monday, Sept. 8, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Drop off site is the First Presbyterian Church, 240 South Market Street. The Fall Rummage Sale at the First Presbyterian Church of Galion is Friday, Sept. 12, from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., and Saturday, Sept. 13., from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Saturday is a “Bag Sale.” The church is located at 240 South Market Street, Galion.

Ontario United Methodist Church is hosting a meal for Silver Citizens on Sept. 17. The menu is ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans, dessert and beverage. Donations are welcomed. Faith & Fitness 5K Run/Walk and 10K Run Sept. 20


On Saturday, Sept. 20, Crestline First United Methodist Church will host their third annual Faith & Fitness 5K/10K Run/Walk during the Crestline Harvest Festival. Proceeds from the race will go towards the completion of a community basketball court located on the church grounds.


The race is at 9 a.m., with registration at 8 a.m. Participants can also pick up registration forms before race day at the church (202 N. Thoman street, Crestline), or at Holcker Hardware, Depot Deli, Napa Auto Parts or the Crawford Eye Clinic. Runners and walkers who pre-register by September 13th will be guaranteed a T-shirt.


This event is co-sponsored by the Crestline First United Methodist Men and First United Methodist Church’s Faith & Fitness running and walking club. Faith & Fitness meets every Monday night at 6:15 p.m. for a run or walk and prayer. The club is free and open to runners and walkers of all skill levels.
