On Sunday, Aug. 10, the Ontario United Methodist Church was joined by Johnsville UMC and Steam Corners UMC for an outdoor worship service and picnic.
This special event was held at Hope Cabins and Banquet Hall owned by Dave and Bonnie Fisher. The service, led by Pastors Peg Welch and Heidi Welch, held an inspiring message called ” Wade in the Water,” The children’s message was given by Rev. Carlos Welch. A beautiful lake and the blessing of good weather and sunshine led to a glorious day by the “water” and was followed with the washing of feet for those moved to do so.
A covered dish picnic was enjoyed in the air-conditioned comfort of the large banquet hall with approximately 150 people in attendance. Entertainment included wagon rides through the woods, fishing in the lake and swimming in the pool. Paddle boats were also used by children wishing to fish.
