Thanks for making Galion Golden Age Center car & cycle show a success

It was a beautiful day, the music and vehicles brought back memories, and there were 76 entries for the senior center’s fundraiser.

Thank you to all of the sponsors who helped make the show a success. There are too many to mention, but we really appreciate the support from our local businesses for this very important event.

Thank you to Sarah Capretta and the Pickle Run committee for making sure everything was running smoothly. I apologize for not knowing everyone’s name on the committee, but they did an excellent job this year.

I would like to apologize to Terry Gribble and the pool personnel. There was some miscommunication on the pool hours for Sunday. We were told earlier in the year that the pool would be closed, but apparently it was supposed to be open.

We did not tell anyone to close the pool. It was open last year at the same time the car show was in progress and there were no problems. It was our oversight for not making sure of the pool schedule.

A huge thank you goes out to three men who were entrants in our show. Two were from Upper Sandusky and one from Bucyrus. They helped my husband and I set up the canopies, tables and chairs, and then helped to tear down afterward. It made the job a lot easier and we were not at the park very long afterward.

Thank you to Thrivent and Don and Rosie Faulds, who provided t-shirts, a banner and helped purchase supplies.

Thank you to all of the members who helped with whatever was needed to achieve a fantastic car show.

A special thanks to Sandy Sparks, who single handedly organized the door prizes and donations. Without her help, there would have been no show.

It is very hard to plan an event when there is nothing else happening the same day. We were very pleased with the turn out even though we were not the only car show that day.

It is our hope that next year will bring more people to the park to enjoy all of the events going on for the Independence Day weekend.
