CRESTLINE — The Lady Tigers picked up their second win of the season here last Saturday afternoon by outscoring the host Lady Bulldogs 68-36 in North Central Conference action.

Leading 26-19 at halftime, the Lady Orange-and-Blue amped up the offense with 42 second-half points while limiting Crestline to just 17. By winning, the locals up their record to 2-12.

Grace Brown registered a double-double for the winners with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Taylor Valentine just missed doing the same by tallying 14 points and hauling in 9 stray shots.

Ramonda Dorsey recorded game-high scoring honors with 19 points for the winners. Others scoring for Galion were: Raven Crawford, 6 points; M’Lynn Gwinner, 5; Jaime Ehrman, 4; plus Robin Barnes, Lauren Huggins and Kayla LaForest, 2 apiece. Gwinner also dealt out 6 assists and picked the hosts for 7 steals. Ehrman garnered 6 takeaways.

Kenzie Ronk was the Lady Bulldogs’ top point-getter with 17 markers.

Team statistics had Galion hitting on 25-of-63 two-pointers (40%), 3-of-8 treys (38%) and 9-of-17 free throws (53%). The victors snagged 34 rebounds, handed out 20 assists and claimed 30 steals.

“This win was long overdue,” said Bryce Lehman, Galion’s head coach. “It was nice to see everyone get to play. We were ahead by seven at halftime and then early in the third quarter, Crestline cut it to two and I had to call a timeout. After the timeout, it was lights out. Give them (Crestline) credit. They are a scrappy team and they never gave up.”

Lehman added, “The last two games, my girls have stepped up their effort. We need to continue that effort the rest of the season.”

Galion also won the junior varsity game, 36-19. Kelly Baker hit for a game-high 15 points for the winners, and Lauren Huggins added 10.
