The Galion Public Library celebrated all things Tolkien on Jan. 4 when teens gathered there adorned in Middle Earth-themed apparel. The film “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” was shown (the sequel is currently in theaters), and they played games that tied in with the film, such as naming the dwarves and a riddle scavenger hunt, and made crafts. In addition Amy Paupenhausen set up a smorgasbord of food to fit the theme: Apple tarts, honey cakes, mincemeat cookies, scones and a baked potato bar. “The Hobbit” is based on the book of the same title by J.R.R. Tolkien, a prequel to his popular “Lord of the Rings” trilogy. (Inquirer photo/Matt Echelberry)
