BUCYRUS — Crawford County first-half (Tax Year 2016) real estate tax bills were mailed Jan. 6.

If you have not received your bill, please call the treasurer’s office at 419-562-7861 or 800-589-5744. The final date for payment of these bills is Feb. 6, 2017. After that date, a 10 percent penalty will be added.

You may use your credit card to pay these taxes over your phone (1-855-825-0556) or through the internet by selecting the Treasurer at www.crawford-co.org. You may also use an electronic check on the internet. There is a fee for this service.

If mailing your tax payment, it is recommended that you mail your bill at least one day prior to the due date. The U.S. postmark must be Feb. 6 or earlier to avoid a penalty.

Real estate taxes may be paid at any branch of United Bank or First Federal Community Bank in Crawford County anytime through Feb. 6. When paying at the bank offices, you must have your current tax bill with you.

Payment plans are available for delinquent taxes and the prepayment of current taxes.

You may check the Treasurer’s website at www.crawford-co.org , contact the Treasurers’ Office or read attachments enclosed with the tax bills for additional information.

The tax bills have a new format this year. If you have questions, call the treasurer’s office. The offices of the Crawford County treasurer and auditor are on the first floor of the county courthouse in Bucyrus and are open daily, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
