Leesville Grange #2078/Crawford County Pomona Grange #36 met at Jefferson Twp. Fire Department on August 5, 2014 at 6:30 PM. Master/President Donald Graf presided over the meeting. Chaplain Dorothy Eckert gave prayer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the American flag.


The Legislative report was a natural gas pipeline coming through Crawford County and neighboring counties. Also talked about State adopted learning standards.


The Family Activities Chairperson reported Kathie Burkman placed first in the skirt, pillow cases, and comfort toy contests. The three National Grange quilt entries with the flower basket pattern will be sent to Ann and Lynn Shank by September 20.


The Deaf Activities Chairman read an article on hearing tests from the Good Vibes newspaper.


The Fairbooth chairman announced that we had a score of 960 out of 1000, received a blue ribbon, and $100.


Communication was received from President Gary Brumbaugh with Subordinate and Pomona officer roster forms. Thank you notes were received from Jack Reed, Jessica Millenbaugh, Madison Rinehart and Mikaela Thompson for the 4-H trophies. Harold and Dorothy Eckert thanked the Grange for the gift card for their 60th wedding anniversary.


Don Graf and Kathie Burkman helped man the booth for the Ohio State Grange at the Ohio State Fair.


County Deputies Harold and Dorothy Eckert presented Leesville Grange with a ribbon as being a sponsor for culinary showcase at the Ohio State Fair.


Lecturer’s Program theme for the evening was “An Evening of Witty Stories, Puns, and Harvest Knowhow”. A grain quiz followed with member guessing items made from corn, soybeans, and wheat.


Deaf Activities, Family Activities, Lecturer and Community Service reports are due on September 1.


The next regular Leesville Grange #2078 and Membership picnic will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at 5:30 PM at William Brown Arts and Crafts Building at Crawford County Fairgrounds. Bring items for Crestline Food Pantry. Bring covered dish and table service. Meat, buns and beverage will be furnished.
