Sunday, August 24, 2014 is the date to set aside to attend the “Feed the Hungry Benefit Concert” being held at Galion Primary School from 4:00-5:30 with a root beer floats intermission. This is the second year St. Paul UMC has sponsored a benefit to aid in costs of their food pantry. You can count on an afternoon of inspiration and pleasure.
The Food Pantry Committee is so honored this year to have The Moonlighters as our
Headliners. They delighted audiences at The Renaissance, Mansfield, OH. Creating their smooth harmony are Rusty Cates, Dalton Derr, Dirk Eachus, and Michael Miller. Also important is returning to the concert by popular demand are Amy Forrest and The Poth Family of Ontario, and Lynda Wenzel, Soloist of Windfall Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Galion.
Ticket holders can enjoy entertainment by pianist Jenny Eachus, prior to concert, when doors will open at 3:45. The rest of our lineup will continue to intrigue you with Johnnie Mayes, of Marion singing our National Anthem. Pastor Ash Welch as M.C. He will also interview Evelyn Guiher of Mt. Gilead, whose inspirational story of faith you won’t want to miss. We are delighted to included children and teens. Members from The Musical Junction Performance Company will be participating, Café Group of St. Paul UMC, and The Eachus Family Singers.
We have a huge need to feed the hungry where the poverty level is about 15 percent and many going to bed hungry. Over the past two years we have fed approximately 1550 families or 3500 individuals, with a financial burden to St. Paul UMC of $12,000 a year. It is always our mission at the food pantry to treat all of our guests with dignity and their appreciation of receiving food enhances our desire to keep our pantry available.
Tickets available at Geyers Food Market, Galion; St. Paul UMC Galion; Reflection Hair Designs in West Park Shopping Center, Mansfield; Primrose Assisted Living , Marion; and Canaan UMC; Edison.
