Safety Council program deals with active shooter situations

GALION — The Galion Safety Council will meet 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sept. 15 at the Galion Moose Lodge, 520 S. Market St., Galion.

The program is “ALICE Training – PART 2”,with Deputy Chris Martin of the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office.

It will overs procedures having to do with an active shooter attack in schools, universities, businesses, hospitals and places of worship and how to respond to armed intruders.

Martin has 13 years in law enforcement and has been with the sheriff’s office since 2005. He has been the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office DARE Officer for the past 8 years in 8 of our county schools. He was certified as an ALICE instructor in 2015.
