Summer lunch program
One in four children in Ohio live in food insecure households. In order to combat childhood hunger in our community, the City of Galion is collaborating with Ohio Heartland Community Action Commission, local churches and Bucyrus City Schools to administer the Galion Summer Lunch Program.
Throughout the summer, we will be serving free, nutritious lunches to kids and teens age 18 and younger at multiple sites. No application or proof of income is needed.
The program began on June 9 and will run through August 1. There will be two sites:
Wyandot Square Apartments at Libby Lane (Monday through Friday, 11:30am-12:15pm)
East Park (Monday through Friday, 12:30pm-1:15pm)
For more information on the program or to volunteer (either individually or with your group), visit www.facebook.com/GalionSummerLunchProgram or call Jocelyn Watkins at 419-468-1857.
