Fire stirs up smoke at A& G MFG Co. plant

The Galion Fire Department responded to a fire at Plant 2 of the A&G Manufacturing Co., 165 Gelsanliter Road, in Galion on April 1. Plant 2, which was built in 1975, is situated on 11 acres with 54,000 square-feet of manufacturing space and handles assembly of tow tractors and powder coating. The “oven” used in the manufacturing process caught on fire, said Galion firefighter Chuck Altstadt. There were no injuries and no damage to the building, which was filled with smoke.
