Crawford residents fare well in 2016 Ohio Beef Expo

Junior showmen competed in the showmanship contest at the 2016 Ohio Beef Expo, held March 19, in Columbus,. The competition featured five age divisions with 450 participants. Judging showmanship were Holly Meier, Clinton, Tenn. and Lindsey Grimes, St. Joseph, Mo.

The Junior Show was held March 20. The annual show spotlighted 829 steers and heifers. Lydell Meier, Clinton, TN evaluated the breeding heifers while Brant Poe, Bryan, Texas assessed the market animals. Major sponsors of the event included: Breeders’ World Online Sales, Fayette County Cattle Feeders, Franklin Equipment, Garwood Cattle Company, MeMe’s Custom Embroidery, Jones Show Cattle, R.D. Jones Excavating, POET Grain, Show Bloom and Sure Champ.

Champions of the event and showmanship top ten winners from Crawford County include:

Intermediate Showmanship:

Tenth place Lori Millenbaugh

Senior Showmanship:

First place – Jessica Millenbaugh

Market Animals:

Third Overall Champion Maine – Anjou: Lori Millenbaugh

Both winners are from New Washington.
