Work continues on project

Dave Krupp of Buckeye Excavating & Construction works Wednesday on the Portland Way South road project.

Portland Way South will be closed until the project is finished.

Work started this week on middle section of the remaining Portland Way South project area, from Henry Street north to Maple Heights Drive.

The contractors will finish curbs, gutters, and underdrains, then begin excavation to construct the new road way. They will then move to the section from Rosewood Avenue north to Grove Avenue.

The final section of the project is from Monnett New Winchester Road (north of the railroad tracks) to Henry Street.

Portland Way South will be closed until the project is finished. The final three phases are expected to last three months, depending on the weather.

There will be no thru traffic permitted during construction. Buckeye Excavating & Construction and Smith Concrete are the project contractors.
