Mary Poppins musical, Aug. 2 and 7-9

The hit Broadway musical Mary Poppins will be presented Aug. 2 and 7-9 at Mansfield’s Renaissance Theater.

Directed by Renaissance Artistic Director, Michael Thomas, performances are Aug. 2 at 2:30 p.m.; Aug. 7 and Aug. 8 at 8 p.m. and Aug. 9 at 2:30 p.m.

Kingwood Center Gardens will be hosting guided tours of its grounds cost is $3 per person. Kingwood Members, Volunteers, and Children 6 and under free.

Ohio State Fair Senior Day Aug. 4

Aug. 4 is Senior Day at the Ohio State Fair, and the Ohio Department of Aging invites all fairgoers to visit the “Well Beyond 60!” EXPO from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Central Park on the fair grounds to take advantage of free health screenings and educational demonstrations.

Fighting Crime in Crawford County Aug. 4

The Crestline Public Library will hold a Fighting Crime in Crawford County event 5 p.m. Aug. 4.

Galion City Schools Kindergarten registration/screening Aug. 5

Galion City Schools will hold a combined Kindergarten Registration and Screening will be held for Galion City Schools Aug. 5 at Galion Primary School. Children must be five before Aug. 1 in order to start kindergarten n the fall. When registering, the child must be present along with the child’s birth certificate; shot records, Social Security card; in case of divorce or separation, legal custody papers are required, proof of residency (i.e., utility bill, rental agreement, or tax forms). Participants must have an appointment for your registration and screening. Call the Galion City Schools at 419-468-3432 to schedule an appointment.

The Backpack Program Aug. 5

The Crestline Public Library will hold a Backpack Program 6:30 p.m. Aug. 5.

All-Ohio State Fair Band performance Aug. 6

The All-Ohio State Fair Band will perform as part of the Ashland Bicentennial Celebration on Aug. 6 at 8 p.m. at the Guy C. Myers Memorial Band Shell. The All-Ohio State Fair Band consists of high school students from throughout the state.

Gospel Baptist Church Vacation Bible School Aug. 6-8

Gospel Baptist Church will hold its Vacation Bible School from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 6-8 at the church. The program is designed for all ages including parents.

Kingwood Center Gardens guided tour Aug. 8

Kingwood Center Gardens is hosting a guided tour of their grounds. The event begins at 11 a.m. and costs $3 per person. Kingwood members, volunteers and children under six are admitted for free.

Naturalist program Aug. 8

This series of programs will cover topics that will help young naturalists (6-11 yrs old) begin their journey towards a greater understanding of our natural world. Programs will begin with an indoor informational session and conclude with a hike or an activity to enforce and practice what they have learned. The Aug. 8 session from 1-3 p.m. at Gorman Nature Center will be birds. Registration is required and the cost of the series is $20 (for field guides and materials).

Ice Cream Social Aug. 8

Christ United Methodist Church, 130 E. Walnut St., Galion will be having an Ice Cream Social along with “Pre-Christmas Bazaar” 4:30-6:30 p.m.
