Galion gardeners make flowers to spite winter’s cold

Members of Galion’s North End Garden Club met earlier this week at the Brush & Palette Club’s art gallery in Uptowne Galion. Following a business meeting, the group moved into the gallery work area where Brush & Palette Club member Melissa Taylor taught them how to make roses, tulips and daffodils using cardboard egg cartons. This “Trash Into Treasure” program was part of NEGC’s regular program schedule. On March 21, NEGC is hosting a guest event featuring well-known local gardener and speaker Kit Walter. That event will be held in the fellowship hall at First Lutheran Church, 127 S. Columbus St., Galion, at 1:30 p.m. For more information, contact NEGC president Shirley Fearn at 419-468-1065 or vice president Patty Rice Groth at 419-468-1211.
