Bucyrus preschool and kindergarten registrations now being accepted

The Bucyrus Elementary School has announced that Preschool and Kindergarten registration for the 2016-2017 school year is now open. Any interested parents or families can contact the Bucyrus Elementary School at 419-562-6089, or visit the school at 245 Woodlawn Avenue, and request a registration packet.

The Bucyrus City Preschool Program has been awarded a Four-Star Rating by the Ohio Department of Education for Excellence in Early Childhood Education, and offers a highly qualified teaching staff and certified education aides. Qualifying students may also receive occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech therapy during the school day. Breakfast is offered at no cost to the students. Lunch is free/reduced for students whose families qualify for the Lunch Program eligibility requirements. A sliding fee scale for preschool tuition is available to ensure all families have access to a quality preschool program.

Parents interested in enrolling their child in the Bucyrus Elementary School kindergarten program for the 2016-2017 school year should do so beginning March 1; any child five-years-old on or before Aug. 1, 2016 is eligible to apply.

Parents may register one of two ways:

1. Complete and return the kindergarten registration form, found in the Bucyrus Elementary School office or online at http://bucyrusschools.org/UserFiles/Servers/Server_33297/File/kregpkt16.pdf

2. Call the elementary school at 419-562-6089 and provide the student’s complete name, date of birth and other relevant information in order to complete the registration form.

Any information must be submitted to the school Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Children entering school for the first time must be screened for hearing, vision, speech and communication, other health or medical conditions and developmental delays. Parents will be notified by the school with screening dates. Proof of residence, birth certificate, social security card, and immunization (shots) records should be brought on the day of the screening.
